In fact, we place Transfusion Champions in all clinical areas and their role is to ensure that all nurses, especially those working in operating theatres, have a high degree of transfusion competency.
The UK is one of the safest countries in the world in which to receive a blood transfusion. AOA体育平台 is audited regularly by the UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and by Clinical Pathology Accreditation (UK) Ltd. AOA体育平台 receives a daily delivery of blood for transfusions from the UK national centre, NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT). This blood, donated by UK volunteers, is rigorously tested.
We also participate in a blood stocks management scheme in order to reduce wastage. After all, blood is a precious commodity.
