Dr (Robin) Daniel Abeles qualified from the Royal Free and University College London Medical School in 2002. After completing his basic medical training he spent 6 years at the Institute of Liver studies at King鈥檚 College Hospital, undertaking clinical and research training in Hepatology. Dr Abeles completed his speciality training in Gastroenterology with sub-speciality accreditation in Hepatology in 2017. He then held a post as a Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London where he spent time in researching Metabolic-dysfunction Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD, previously called Non-Alcoholic Fatty liver disease/NAFLD). He was appointed as Consultant Hepatologist and Gastroenterologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 2018 and holds an Honorary Senior Lectureship at Imperial College London.

In addition to managing patients with general Hepatology and gastroenterology (including upper and lower GI endoscopy), his clinical interests are in MASLD, non-invasive detection of liver disease, acute liver injury/failure and complications of chronic liver disease.
